In late 2020, the crypto space was exploding. COVID had people stuck at home, stimulus checks were hitting bank accounts, and everyone suddenly had an opinion on Bitcoin. But alongside the legitimate interest came something uglier: pump & dump groups were everywhere. Discord servers and Telegram channels promising "guaranteed 100x gains" were pulling in tens of thousands of people — and systematically robbing them.
We watched people lose real money. Not whales or degens who could afford it — regular people who thought they'd found a shortcut. And the scammers just kept going, moving from one group to the next, because nobody was doing anything about it.
So we did something about it.
The Beginning: An Anti-Scam Mission
Giga Chad was founded as an anti-scam community. The idea was simple: instead of promising people easy money, we'd teach them how the scams actually worked — and then help them make money the real way, through proper trading, research, and risk management.
We weren't trying to build the next big Discord server. We were trying to keep people from getting burned. But it turned out that a community built on honesty and education attracted exactly the kind of people who stick around.
One of our earliest and most significant projects was Operation Catching Dominus — a months-long investigation into Big Pump Signal, one of the largest pump & dump operations in crypto history. We built custom tools, traced connections across Discord, Twitter, Reddit, Telegram, and even RuneScape forums, and submitted our findings to the CFTC.
